Inspiration Boards

Inspiration boards are a great tool for me to see the overall scheme of the wedding. Here are some of mine, starting with the oldest and working towards the newest.

So there you go. You can tell it's gone from dark tealy bluegreen to a light sage/slate greengrey. But I love it. So ha!

  1. Heather,

Do you already have your invites done?? I am so behind on all of this. Nice putting Kris up in the bridesmaid pictures. I assume the dark purple is Den and I'm the raspberry wine one? Are you going to be wearing your gloves that Kris gave you for Christmas? BTW, I LOVE the constrast in the cream/"black" bouquet!! It's absolutely beautiful.

  2. Q#1: I have my invites designed, yes - they look like the ones in the last inspiration board (on the far right centre), only they have the dark burgundy japanese maple leaves and not the willow leaves. I've designed English and Catalan ones each.

Q#2: The dark purple is Denise, yes - the actual name of the colour is "port", and will probably be really close to what I will wear under my chemise.

Q#3: I'm still considering wearing the gloves. I love them, and hope they go with everything, but I want to wait until I have my veil done before I decide if they're overkill or not.

Q#4: Glad you like the bouquet!! I've just spent the past hour or so sketching up a definitive idea of exactly what I want. You three will probably get a similar bouquet only without the cream - yours will be all colours.

  3. Heather,

It's going to be an absolutely beautiful wedding. Very personal and unique. I'm really impressed (and proud!) of all you've done thus far. I'm hoping to have your list done by the end of the week, but I'm still chasing down a few people. The Snow/Schofield/Stone crew have yet to send me any details. I might have to get Dad to give Aunt Norma a ring and ask her to bug our cousins to get a move on.

So your veil...I get that it will come down to cheek/chin level. Is it only going to be in the front (like Kristina's Bachelorette head piece) or are you going to make a back as well? What are you going to make the veil from? Will there be lace on it?

The colours are going to be so rich and yummy. Mom's dress is beautiful (though I'd love to see a picture of her in it) and the colours Denise, Kris & I have are really rich. When did you settle on a port-like colour for your dress? I thought you were leaning towards copper?

    Love you!

  4. Hey Steph! Glad you like the look of it so far - I'm proud of it too, but I feel strange talking about it unless someone asks me. I guess this blog's a good idea, then! People can feel free to ignore my wedding-mania all they like.

The veil will *hopefully* look like the veil from Sweet Home Alabama. I'm sure you remember what that looked like, you own the movie! And I didn't know I wanted so dark a colour to wear until I tried on that burgundy camisole underneath the chemise. Fell in love. The details of the lace just pop, and since there's an overall wash of white, I'm not worried about 'blending in' with you guys (not that that's so bad!). I think the conservatives out there will have nothing to complain about.

Love you too! Thanks for the comment - it's nice to have feedback!
